Living in the Essence of God's Love: Living in Freedom

Updated: Mar 19, 2025

Love: God's very essence and nature.

Dear brothers and sisters, did you know that the essence of God's grace is rooted in His very nature - love?

The Bible tells us that "God is love" (1 John 4:8). When we say "God is love," it means that love is not just an attribute or action of God; it is His very essence and nature. This truth is foundational to understanding God’s transformative power in our lives.

When you visit the Freedom Hill Church website, one of the first things you’ll notice is our tagline: Transforming Lives, Empowering Communities. We achieve this through God’s love. Our DNA as a church is to live in Freedom through Jesus Christ, based on the Holy word of God, led by the Holy spirit. Because of God’s graciousness (in us) we as a church will triumph - and we will share that with the lost, and we will empower them to do as we do … embrace this transformation through God’s love.

I recently preached about the foundation for God's transforming grace in our lives. God's love and grace are inseparable companions, working hand in hand to bring about a profound and lasting transformation within us. This divine love, unconditional and sacrificial, surpasses all human comprehension and embraces us in our brokenness. It is through His boundless grace that God extends kindness, forgiveness, and blessings that we do not deserve.

By embracing, embodying and practicing this God-like love, our communities can live in freedom. As we surrender to God's love and embrace His grace, we are liberated from the chains of guilt, shame, and fear. No longer must we strive for acceptance or approval, for we are already deeply loved by our Heavenly Father. Our identity as beloved children is firmly established in His unfailing love.

Living in the essence of God's love grants us true freedom. This freedom transcends the limitations imposed by the world and empowers us to walk in the fullness of God's purposes for our lives. In His love, we find the strength to love others unconditionally, extending grace and forgiveness, and pursuing righteousness.

Embracing His love and allowing His grace to work within us molds us into the image of Christ. As vessels of His love, we mirror His grace, mercy, and compassion to a hurting world, offering hope and healing.

So, I urge you to come to more deeply understand this lens of love through which God sees His people. You’ll come to realize how important it is to approach our community with a mindset and transformational approach that reflects God’s love, and in turn achieves better outcomes and empowers the many.

Pray this with me:

“Lord, as we [Freedom Hill Church] venture out into our local communities and reach beyond on your behalf, may we always remember the inseparable bond between Your love and grace. Together, they shape us into instruments of Your love, bringing freedom and transformation to those around us. Let us continuously abide in Your love, allowing it to permeate every aspect of our lives and radiate through us, drawing others closer to the love and grace You, our Heavenly Father, bestows upon us.”

We invite you to join us for our upcoming virtual session on May 26 at 9:00 AM ET via Facebook Live. Please also join us in person at the next service and invite a friend - so that they too can experience the power of God in a welcoming community that celebrates spiritual growth and faith in action.

Blessings,

Pastor Ron
