Pastor Ron Abad is the founding pastor and church planter of Freedom Hill Church, as well as the co-vocational CEO of Community Housing Innovations, a nonprofit dedicated to affordable housing and community-based services. With a heart for ministry and a passion for empowering others, Pastor Ron is committed to preaching the Word of God, teaching transformative biblical principles, and guiding individuals and families toward their God-given potential.

A Life of Service And Leadership
For nearly three decades, Pastor Ron has demonstrated executive leadership in government and nonprofit organizations, working tirelessly to uplift underserved communities. As the CEO of Community Housing Innovations, he oversees a $125 million operating budget and a team of 700 employees, delivering critical services such as homeless shelters, affordable housing, financial literacy programs, and eviction prevention. Pastor Ron’s dedication to serving others is an extension of his marketplace ministry, where he integrates faith and service into all areas of his life.
The Vision for Freedom Hill Church
In January 2024, Pastor Ron announced the launch of Freedom Hill Church, a thriving new congregation in Westchester County. By March 2024, the church began offering its first services, with a vision to grow and multiply across New York City and the Hudson Valley. Pastor Ron’s mission through Freedom Hill Church is to build a community of faith that empowers individuals, strengthens families, and transforms lives through the power of God.
Education And Recognition
For Pastor Ron holds a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University, a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School, and professional development certifications from Harvard University’s JFK School of Government and the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation. Additionally, he is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and a graduate of the Berean School of the Bible at Global University.
Faith, Family, And Passion
Pastor Ron is married to Hope, an educator and administrator in the New York City Board of Education. Together, they are proud parents to four daughters and grandparents to five grandchildren. Outside of ministry and service, Pastor Ron enjoys Yankees baseball, golf, home improvement projects, and reading biographies and leadership books.
Through his dedication to ministry, leadership, and service, Pastor Ron Abad continues to embody the mission of Freedom Hill Church: to transform lives, empower communities, and inspire others to reach their highest potential in Christ.
